The Woodlanders, Thomas Hardy. Another book I found on my local free library outside a café. I brought it home with me because I loved Hardy’s ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’. I’ve read a few chapters and am happy I made it mine.
The Land Before Avocado, by Richard Glover. Recommended by a new Australian who knows I grew up in the 60s like the author.
