Fighting France by Edith Wharton. When I saw Edith’s name on this small poppied cover, I couldn’t resist. Her observations as a woman in France during the invasions of WW1 are enlightening.
The Compass Rose by Ursula le Guin. My son has lent it to me, saying it was lent to him and I should read it. I’m not a sci-fi girl, and I might not read every story. But le Guin is a gifted writer.
