{"id":1258,"date":"2012-05-19T10:19:42","date_gmt":"2012-05-19T10:19:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/soundslikewish.wordpress.com\/?p=1258"},"modified":"2012-05-19T10:19:42","modified_gmt":"2012-05-19T10:19:42","slug":"ailsas-photo-challenge-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/soundslikewish.org\/?p=1258","title":{"rendered":"Ailsa&#039;s travel photo challenge:  Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ailsa from the northern hemisphere has proposed a photo challenge:\u00a0 summer.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/wheresmybackpack.com\/2012\/05\/18\/summer\/\">http:\/\/wheresmybackpack.com\/2012\/05\/18\/summer\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, I&#8217;m sitting here in the southern hemisphere, the heater blasting and the doors closed to keep the low low temperatures out.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a good thing I have photos to remind me what summer is like.<\/p>\n<p>Summer = beach.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t get enough of the beach.\u00a0 However, in recent years I&#8217;ve moved to Canberra, a few hours inland from the coast and now I don&#8217;t get much beach at all.\u00a0 But when I do travel down to the coast, there&#8217;s a special compensation for the much cooler ocean temperatures which will keep me out of the water most of the time: the exquisite pleasure of walking on the rocks and reflecting on the constancy of the waves.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve discovered that the rocky shoreline is pitted with rock pools and tiny caves for sea creatures.\u00a0 This photo is one I took in a moment of delight at spotting crabs spotting me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/worth.id.au\/wish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/crabs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1259\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/worth.id.au\/wish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/crabs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/soundslikewish.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/crabs.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/soundslikewish.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/crabs-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/soundslikewish.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/crabs-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ailsa from the northern hemisphere has proposed a photo challenge:\u00a0 summer.\u00a0 http:\/\/wheresmybackpack.com\/2012\/05\/18\/summer\/ Of course, I&#8217;m sitting here in the southern hemisphere, the heater blasting and the doors closed to keep the low low temperatures out.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a good thing I have photos to remind me what summer is like.
