Black and white photos of my everyday life. Day two: Fountain.<\/p>\n

The Captain Cook Memorial Jet in Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra, shoots water 152 metres high for about four hours a day. In moderate wind the fountain spray forms a transparent curtain across the lake. In strong wind it’s turned off to prevent a water hazard on the nearby bridge.<\/p>\n

Photo taken during a visit this week to the National Library to read Pierrots on the Stage of Desire<\/em>, a history of 19th-century French pantomime.<\/p>\n
