Today there are two photo challenges that I can meet with one photo: the weekly WordPress challenge to find a Happy photo, and Ailsa’s challenge to show animal photos. She has posted some excellent animal snaps to celebrate World Animal Day on 4th October: http://wheresmybackpack.com/2012/10/05/travel-theme-animals/
My picture does for both challenges. It comes from an album of WWII photos that my father brought home in 1941. Beneath this one he wrote ‘Syrian Bint’. The dictionary tells me that ‘bint’ is colloquial and perhaps offensive, but then, its origin is Arabic, meaning girl or daughter. So I’ll leave it as it is.
She’s beautiful.
She really is beautiful
Love the image. It tells a story. Thanks for sharing…
Thanks. I think the story is that it’s good to see a ‘Happy’ photo from Syria.
The girl and her goat are stunning together, aren’t they?
Fabulous shot, Trish. Well done on doing two challenges at once. 🙂
Gee thanks!
I like when bloggers combine challenges. It shows imagination, creativity, and extra effort.
She is very beautiful, and her little ‘dog’ too. :-).
Well, you’re very nice. The creativity in this post is in using only one photo because my supply of war/1940s images is running short. If I stretch it out I might make it to the end of the year.
I think children + pets = happiness in every era, in every corner of the planet. I love this shot!
Thanks heaps, Laura.
Great choice! I love the way you weave this archive of photos into the challenge posts!
Oh thank you. There are a lot of photos to choose from, so it’s not hard. But it’s fun and I’m glad others, like you, enjoy it too.
The photo is lovely and indeed worth a thousand words – thanks for visiting my blog too.
